There are certain times when you may want to move to an exact location on the timeline. This could be a reference to frames, minutes/seconds, or bars. Dropping markers into your session is a good way to do this, but sometimes you may need to go to a very specific point that does not have a marker in place. Studio One has an option for this that you can find in the transport menu as seen above. GoTo Time, lets you move your cursor to a position by entering text into the text field.
What time format does GoTo Time use?
One thing to keep in mind when using GoTo Time, is that it will use the time format that is used in your main time counter, whether that may be, seconds, samples, bars, or frames (Timecode).
So if you happened to be working on a project that references timecode, you would set frames as your main time display, then if you needed to move to a specific area on the timeline that references frames, you could do so by simply using your GoTo Time shortcut, and entering the exact frame count that you need. After which point, you could drop markers in for all areas that you need to hit.
Below is an example of using GoTo Time to move the cursor to a specific bar, is this case being bar 25.
This was something that I used often in Pro Tools when needing to move to a specific point in the timeline, so for anyone missing this since moving over from Pro Tools, this one will come in handy for you.
