Wave-Alchemy+Revolution+Contest

As you may recall, the good people over at Wave Alchemy were kind enough to provide us with 3 copies of Revolution – their amazing virtual drum machine for giveaway! We’re excited to announce the winners have been chosen.

For those of you who haven’t seen this yet, we did a review for the blog a while back which can be seen here. Needless to say, it was very well received & ended up taking home an Editors Choice award.

Here’s Wave Alchemy’s take on Revolution;

“Revolution is a deeply produced Drum Machine faithfully delivering 14 of the world’s most iconic Drum Machines directly to your DAW, inside a single ground-breaking virtual instrument.

For the first time ever, a plugin delivers the true sound of the most influential Drum Machines of our time – 808, 909, 606, 707, 727, 505, CR-78, CR-8000, Linndrum, Drumtraks, Drumulator, OB-DX, SP-12.

Revolution is much more than just an emulation however – It’s about creating new, powerful sounds that push boundaries. It’s drum production redefined.”

Revoice Pro Competition Winner Announced

In January we the Expert sites ran a competition for someone to win a copy of the amazing Revoice Pro from Synchro Arts. We are very pleased to announce that the winer is Tokyo resident Albert Newquist . Albert answered correctly to the question What does APT stand for? The answer was Audio Performance Transfer. Congrats Albert we hope you enjoy your prize.

About Albert

“I’m a Canadian who’s been based in Tokyo since 2012. I work primarily out of Studio Goro Goro, and for the last few years I’ve been helping to make records for this fantastic artist driven label here called Call And Response Records: https://callandresponse.jimdo. com/

The bulk of the work is ambitious young bands, often disheveled and radical young Tokyo artists with a whisper of brilliance. With minuscule budgets and a lot of elbow grease, the goal is to faithfully amplify that whisper into a shriek. It’s very much a labour of love.”

Albert goes on to say;

“A lot of bands I work with like doubled vocals and so do I. A lot of them also look for a degree of pitch modification/correction and I am happy to comply. It’s going to make a world of difference to finally be equipped with the best tools for these tasks. There’s a record coming out this March for a band called “Looprider” who are very much in the heavy but eclectic lineage of Boris — and also very much worth a listen. Tastefully doubled vocals is an important part of their sound (https://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=UBmy2G-NksQ) so when I began their new album “Umi”, which is basically just one twenty-five minute song, with just a few vocal parts — all doubled — I knew they had to be perfect.

It took me a long time to give them what they wanted. Now and I can’t help but look back and wonder what we could have accomplished if we’d had these.”

From all of us at the Expert sites – Congrats on the win Albert!

UJAM Virtual Guitarist Bundle Winners Announced

A while back, we had the pleasure of running a contest for this amazing bundle, and our good friends at UJAM were so generous that they offered up not just 1 or 2, but 5! opportunities for our members to win this killer bundle!!

If you haven’t heard of these yet, then find out what the Expert Site’s founder Russ Hughes had to say about IRON, and Amber when he reviewed them.

So we’d like to offer a big congrats to our 5 winners! When we told them all they had won, here’s what they had to say:

Tom Scrivano

“I’ve had my eye on the Virtual Guitarist bundle since Russ Hughes reviewed IRON and Amber. Since I don’t play guitar I am certain to make use of these virtual guitars. Thanks to UJAM for sponsoring the Expert Community blogs!”

Stephan Forster

“Wow that’s fantastic, thanks so much UJAM and the Studio One Expert team! I am flabbergasted and so excited to try out my prize on some tracks that I’ve been struggling with recently. Hopefully this will bring back some inspiration for me. Lost for words now..”

Buddy Martin

“I am really thrilled to win this UJAM Virtual Guitarist Bundle and can’t wait to really put it into use.. The idea of having a professional guitarist at any time you want is wonderful. I play guitar and I have already though of using these programs as another, completely different guitarist. Many times I just take a small keyboard to the park, sit down and try to write. This great bundle will really give me the option of writing and using killer guitar riffs and loops without a guitar, I just can’t wait to get going!”

Jens Dunkel

“Wow, that’s awesome!!! My name is Jens Dunkel an I’m from Berlin, Germany.  I’m playing in a band called “Zu Dritt” (Three of us) and we cover Irish folk and Country. I’m playing the guitar, bass guitar, mandolin and sing. Furthermore I love to record music. I use Pro Tools and Ableton live.  I’m looking forward to trying out the UJAM Virtual Guitarist bundle and I think I can us it for some quick musical notes.”

Jacob Petersen

“I’m glad to be one of the lucky winners ofUJAM VirtualGuitarist bundle (IRON, Amber, & Sparkle)  Now it will be exciting to take it in use. 🙂

Jacob P. “
